About
The Data Collaborative provides consulting services to non-profit and for-profit organizations, helping those organizations collect, assemble, and report on data that is relevant to their programs.
Principals Eric Segal and Steve Wishengrad founded The Data Collaborative in 2005 after many years of providing data consulting services to non-profits and for-profit organizations. Together, they have expanded their offerings as they continue to serve clients all over the United States and Canada.
Principals
Eric Segal, President
Eric Segal has split his career between Information Services and the Non-profit Sector. As a technical services provider, he has worked for American Science and Engineering, Doble Engineering, Digital Equipment Corporation, and Philadelphia Health Management Corporation.
In the non-profit sector, he directed the Access Services division of the Tri-City Community Action Agency in Malden, Massachusetts, and then served for six years as the Executive Director of the Association for Resident Control of Housing (ARCH). He received a BA from Wesleyan University, and a MA in Citizen Participation and Public Policy from Tufts University. Eric has provided technical consulting services to non-profits since 1997.
Steve Wishengrad, Principal
Steve Wishengrad has been working as a consultant, volunteer, board member and software developer for non-profit and for-profit organizations since 1984. He knows the business of non-profits and software development. He entered the computer field because he wanted to work with non-profits and help them solve their database problems. Since that time he has developed fundraising software for Advocate Development Corporation, same-day-surgery software for Camberley Systems Inc., and software for the hotel and hospitality industry for Daylight Software.
While working in the corporate sector, Steve volunteered with several non-profits, providing them with software solutions and database applications. Recently he has worked with organizations as diverse as the Underground Railway Theater, Resist Inc., and the National Association to Protect Children. Steve received his BA from Middlebury College and is a graduate of the Cambridge Institute for Computer Programming.
The Data Collaborative staff are extremely knowledgable, patient and responsive. They helped me think through what I wanted out of my project and offered helpful suggestions on the best way to achieve that. It was truly a pleasure to work with them!
