Database Developer – Fast-growing but easygoing company (The Data Collaborative) looking for junior level database developer. You will work with a senior developer developing custom databases for clients around the world.

Job Activities:

  • Provide phone-based and project-based development and support for QuickBase clients using native QuickBase capabilities.
  • Provide enhanced QuickBase services using JavaScript and the QuickBase API.
  • Provide services using PHP, vb.Net, asp.net and other platforms.
  • Provide services on other database platforms: SQL Server, MySQL, MS Access, etc.
  • In an ongoing manner, stay current with QuickBase changes and learn new technologies that are likely to be required in our projects.

Technical Skills: Experience with several of the following:

  • PHP, Asp.Net
  • VB.Net
  • SQL, SQL Server, MySQL, database design, data normalization
  • MS Access, MS Excel and MS Word automation
  • HTML, JavaScript, CSS, JQuery
  • XML, SOAP and similar API experience
  • Object Oriented design and development
  • Mobile Application development (Android or iPhone)
  • QuickBase experience a plus

Other important skills: detail oriented, ability to manage your time well, self-motivated, flexible, interest in learning new technologies, ability to come up to speed quickly, strong communication skills including the ability to speak English and write clearly.

You don't need tons of experience but your skills need to be solid.

Intern

We are also on the look-out for interns for the summer of 2011. If you are a college or high school student who spends time on computers not just for video games, but to learn programming languages, use Google tools, create smartphone apps and things like that, you should consider an internship here. Internships are 4 hours/day, pay is good, and while the work is not always fascinating, it is useful and you will learn valuable skills.
